People: RSM welcomes 20 trainees; Former Callcredit FD takes up new board role; and more

AUDIT, tax and consulting firm RSM has expanded its team in Leeds and Hull with the appointment of 20 trainees.

The group, including 16 graduates and four school leavers, will be working within RSM’s tax, audit, accounting and business advisory, restructuring and internal audit teams.

The Leeds and Hull appointments are part of a record 350 trainee intake for the firm across all locations in the UK – expanding the total headcount at RSM by 10%.

Kevin O’Connor, RSM’s regional managing partner for Yorkshire and the North East, said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to take on so many new starters in Leeds and Hull, which reflects the growth in our business. TRANSPORT software specialist Tracsis has appointed Liz Richards as a non-executive director.  

Ms Richards was previously group finance director of Callcredit Information Group from 2000 to 2015.  Callcredit is a consumer data business, which grew from a start-up in 2000 to a £150m turnover business with over 1,000 employees.  Following its significant growth and success, the business was sold in 2014 for around £500m.

Ms Richards trained with EY and currently is non-executive director and audit committee chair of LINK Scheme, the UK ATM network operator.

Lake Legal Frances MilnerLEEDS law firm Lake Legal is expanding its team with the appointment of Frances Milner as a legal assistant.
 
Ms Milner’s promotion to the role comes after seven years as an administrative support assistant.
 
Lyn Ayrton, managing partner of Lake Legal, said: “Frances and I first met when she was a secretary at a previous firm we both worked at. She joined Lake Legal from its inception, and it soon became clear that she had a lot of talent. Frances is often complimented for her sensitive and sympathetic manner with clients, and so it was a natural progression for her to take on a more client facing role.”
