Takeover talks fall through at Hull City

A TAKEOVER at Premier League football club Hull City Tigers has reportedly fallen through.

The deal between owners the Allam family and a Chinese consortium led by Hawken Xiu Li and her brother Dai Yongge has collapsed, according to BBC Radio Humberside.

In August it emerged that the consortium was looking to buy the club from Egyptian-born British businessman Hull City owner Assem Allam, and his son and vice chairman Ehab.

The Allams had put the club up for sale in 2014 after the Football Association denied requests to be allowed to change its name officially to Hull Tigers.

BBC Radio Humberside’s David Burns said: “It’s nothing Allam has done so I assume it’s the fit and proper person tests. The Premier League have told me they can’t comment on the situation.”
