Morrisons gets students on board

MORRISONS is investing in a nationwide student discount for university attendees.

It is trialling the scheme for three months, and if it is well received, will continue it.

As part of the offer, students across the UK will receive a 10% discount on grocery shopping – excluding fuel, tobacco, spirits and lottery, which may come as a disappointment to some.

It also cannot be used online, but Morrisons has partnered with student discount experts, UNiDays to promote the discount.

Rebecca Singleton, Morrisons director of local solutions said: “We listened to students and they told us that they’d be more loyal to a supermarket that offered the sort of discounts that they get on rail travel, clothes and eating out. So today, we’re launching the trial of a discount on groceries that will help students make their money go further.”
