LAW firm hlw Keeble Hawson has added to its commercial property department with the appointment of associate solicitor Wendy Greenwood, a specialist in construction and engineering.

Ms Greenwood’s expertise include development work, pure construction and other complex transactional work within the construction, engineering and infrastructure industries.

She will also support the firm’s commercial departments on technical construction-specific projects.

Investec appointmentsSHEFFIELD’S Investec Wealth & Investment has hired two trainee investment advisers.

Sam Olley and Jacob Hutchinson are both working towards their Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) Diplomas, which will see them eventually qualifying as investment managers.

Ernst Kallus Emerald GroupERNST KALLUS has been welcomed on board at West Yorkshire-based global publisher Emerald Group as its technical and programme director.

The company said the recruitment of Mr Kallus, formerly digital media director at Oxford University Press and, most recently, director of platform strategy at Pearson, is a key appointment for Emerald and the wider Emerald Group – comprising Emerald Publishing, Research Media and GoodPractice.

Mr Kallus has held technology leadership positions at both OUP and Pearson and, earlier in his career, spent time with technology service providers specifically working in the academic publishing sector and also worked with technology start-ups.

Richard Bevan, CEO at Emerald, added: “Ernst is a very experienced publishing professional, working at board level and with a track record of delivering international programmes.

NG Bailey apprenticesTWENTY-ONE apprentices from NG Bailey have received their graduation certificates at a special ceremony at the company’s headquarters near Ilkley and secured full time employment with the company.

David Hurcomb, the company’s chief executive, said: “It makes me proud to see how our apprentices have developed their technical skills and knowledge, as well as how they have grown as individuals as they have progressed through the programme.

“The construction industry is facing a skills crisis and we at NG Bailey are very open about our commitment to helping develop and nurture our next generation of workers. Antony Barton joins Roberston BaxterIFA firm Robertson Baxter has added former HSBC adviser, Antony Barton, to its growing team.

Mr Barton joins as one of the firm’s senior independent financial advisers, bringing the total number of staff to 13 and advisers to four.

Mr Barton has worked in the banking and financial industry for 12 years. He also has nine years’ experience owning and running a retail business.

He is well known to RB, having previously worked with all three of Robertson Baxter’s IFAs, joint managing directors Stephen Baxter and Greg Robertson, and associate director Simon Shorthouse.
