Former Sheffield industrial site set for £5.4m transformation

A FORMER industrial site in Sheffield is to be transformed after being earmarked for a £5.4m residential development.

Knight Knox, a provider of buy-to-let developments to the private investor market, has bolstered its Yorkshire portfolio with the launch of Palatine Gardens.

The scheme on Roscoe Road will transform the unused site into 54 apartments ranging from studios to 1-bed apartments, including 12 duplex penthouses. It follows a flood of investment into Sheffield’s regeneration in and around the city centre.

Construction at Palatine Gardens is due to begin in early 2017 with completion expected in Q2 of 2018.

The apartments, designed by Coda Studios, are available to buy-to-let investors for purchase now.

Michael Fenlon, sales director at Knight Knox, said: “Sheffield is seeing a continued stream of investment into its regeneration and the next couple of years are set to be very exciting for the city.

“We’re thrilled to be providing local residents with premium properties while offering valuable investment opportunities to landlords and transforming idle industrial space. I’ve no doubt that Palatine Gardens will be a hugely popular scheme and will fulfil the demands of buy-to-let investors and first time buyers alike.”

The development will be let and managed by Intus Lettings, while Crossbow Ventures will act as the developer.

Previous projects undertaken by Crossbow and Knight Knox include the Dunfields development in Kelham Island, Sheffield and the sold out Bells Court scheme in the city centre which transformed an almost derelict 1950s warehouse building into 29 1950s-style apartments.

David Cross at Coda Studios, said: “We’re excited to be working in Sheffield city centre and to be bringing a new lease of life to this unused site. The scheme will contribute to the area’s much anticipated regeneration and provide premium new homes within walking distance of Sheffield’s city centre.

“We’re confident Palatine Gardens will become a focal development in Sheffield and look forward to starting the project next year.”
