People: Senior promotion at High Street TV; Listed software business appoints CFO; and more

MULTI-channel retailer High Street TV has promoted Phil Wood to the position of international sales director.

Mr Wood previously held the role of retail general manager at the Harrogate-based company for eight years. High Street TV said his promotion marks a key phase of the company’s ambitious growth strategy, overseeing and developing its successful international distribution channels.

The brand’s product portfolio includes NutriBullet, Pressure King Pro and XHose – all category bestsellers. It trades with more than 40 leading blue chip UK retailers across 9,000 outlets and trades globally.

Jim Coleman, co-founder & chief executive, said: “He will play a key part in expanding our thriving international division as we continue to grow the High Street TV offer worldwide.”

DISTRIBUTED computing and software company WANdisco has appointed Erik Miller as chief financial officer and a director of the board.

The listed Sheffield and San Francisco-headquartered company said Mr Miller will be based at the company’s San Ramon office and is a “seasoned technology sector executive” with over 20 years’ experience of shaping and leading the finance functions of both privately and publicly held high-growth technology companies.  

Mr Miller has held a number of senior financial positions, most recently serving between 2010 and 2016 as chief financial officer of Envivio, Inc. – a NASDAQ listed, multinational software-based video processing company.  

During his tenure, Envivio tripled revenues and listed on NASDAQ in 2012.  Envivio was purchased by Ericsson AB in October 2015.

Gordons graduate intakeLAW firm Gordons has welcomed a new crop of young people to the firm, with the appointment of four graduates and a teenager.

Christabel Clappison, Harry Hobson, Andrew Moore and Sophie Wilson have started two-year training contracts, while Daniel Western has joined Gordons’ apprenticeship scheme, which is now in its sixth year.

The trainees will now undertake four six-month seats in various Gordons departments.  

Welcoming the new trainees and apprentice, Gordons managing partner Paul Ayre said: “Competition for training contracts and apprenticeships at Gordons is always fierce.  We look forward to helping these youngsters start their careers in the Law and teaching them about the importance of building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.”

Laura Drew 360 Chartered Accountants360 Chartered Accountants has appointed an audit specialist.
 
Laura Drew has become Hull-based 360’s audit manager. She will be working closely with founder of 360 and audit director Andy Steele as well as helping to train the apprentices on the 360 Apprenticeship Programme.
 
Mr Steele said: “We are delighted that Laura has joined the 360 team. She has great experience in this area and has already hit the ground running.
 
“We’ve seen rapid growth as a firm over the last few years and, as our audit department has been getting busier and busier, we decided that now was the right time to bring in another audit specialist who will be able to look after both current and future clients.”
