159-bed hotel set to replace nightclub site in city centre

CONSTRUCTION is set to begin on a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Hull on the site of a former nightclub.

Property developers Manorcrest Homes are set to start on site next month, having put out an advert for a project manager for the site.

The hotel, on the site of the former Lexington Avenue nightclub in Ferensway, was given planning permission in July last year.

The company, under the Lexington Avenue Leisure Ltd banner, will create 400 construction jobs at the site.

The Hull Daily Mail said that 100 permanent positions would be created at the development.

Manorcrest was also behind the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln hotel on Brayford Wharf North.
