Online gift and homeware retailer to launch flagship Leeds store

GIFT and homeware retailer Liberty Trading is set to open the doors of its first standalone store, following a successful first year as an online company.

Launched by Barnsley-based online entrepreneur Patrick Bywater, Liberty Trading offers more than two thousand quirky gifts, homeware and lifestyle products online.

It will open the store on October 15 on Albion Street in Leeds in the old Carphone Warehouse building.

The store will feature all of Liberty Trading’s signature quirky products such as the Upside Down Wine Glass, the Chocolate Teapot, the Jumping Joggle Bopper and the retro gumball machine.

The opening follows a successful re-launch of Liberty Trading’s e-commerce store and further investment into its new 6000 sq ft headquarters and warehouse in Barnsley earlier this year.

Mr Bywater said: “We originally started selling online five years ago and have continually extended our range year-on-year, so we are really excited to finally launch our flagship store in Leeds city centre.  Our recently re-vamped website which has gone down a storm with our customers online and we are constantly searching for alternative gifts to add to our product portfolio. The new store will be a one-stop shop for homeware and gifts with a quirky twist.

“We have significant expansion plans for the next few years, including extending our store roll out to places such as Sheffield, York, Harrogate and further afield.  That is in addition to expanding our alternative product portfolio – so we hope to see our Yorkshire customers in our store soon.”
