Law firm merges with West Yorkshire practice

130 YEAR-OLD Bradford-based Eatons Solicitors have merged with another West Yorkshire practice to create a 60-strong firm.

Bingley-based Weatherhead & Butcher Solicitors have been merged with the firm, after launching in 1995.

The Bingley office will be dubbed as part of Eatons Solicitors, retaining the Weatherhead & Butcher name.

Partner John Daykin and his existing staff will be initially joined by Eatons partner and head of property David Butterfield and other Eatons staff.

The firms said it would be “business as usual” but wadding the additional family law, employment law, wills and probate and accident and court claims divisions from Eatons.

Eatons was established in 1887 and now have 60 staff across 5 offices throughout Leeds, Bradford, Bingley, Ilkley, Otley and Harrogate.

John Daykin, partner at the newly merged Firm commented: “We are delighted to merge with Eatons. This merger is about looking forward and creating an exciting future.”
