SME Spotlight: Love Bomb Cushions takes a seat in E-Sparks’ UK hatcheries

A LEEDS-based company is set to cushion the seats of a number of entrepreneurs over eight Entrepreneurial Spark Hatcheries across the UK.

Love Bomb Cushions, the UK’s official emoji license holder, launched last year and has been on board at the Entrepreneurial Spark base in Leeds since February.

Providing the fun, emoji cushions to fellow entrepreneurs in Leeds, word soon spread which lead to the Entrepreneurial Spark team placing an order for 300 to fill the offices of further Hatcheries.

Entrepreneurial Spark is a fast-growth organisation designed to offer expert business advice for early stage and growing ventures.

In one year, Love Bomb Cushions has grown to stock a range of emoji cushions, keyrings and slippers to major retailers across the UK.

Founder Sarah Agar-Brennan was shopping around for ideas for her teenage daughter’s birthday and stumbled across emoji pillows from China. It took her several attempts to get them delivered as they kept getting lost in international post but once they arrived they were an instant hit, she says.

But, having been unable to find the right standard of cushion, Ms Agar-Brennan decided to source a factory to provide higher finishing and textiles standards.

Husband Carl has now joined the business as sales and operations director. Love Bomb Cushions is forecasting turnover of £750,000 in its first year.
