Appointments: Specialist lawyer joins Sheffield office; Commercial director appointment at business support company

SPECIALIST Emilie Garthwaite has joined Taylor & Emmet’s family division.

Previously at Sills and Betteridge in Lincoln, she specialises in child care law, providing advice to local clients on a range of issues, from care proceedings and residence orders, to dealing with social services and parental responsibility agreements.

Michaela Heathcote, head of Taylor&Emmet’s family law team, also received personal recommendation from the industry guide. She added: “We are pleased to welcome Emilie to our respected child care division.

BUSINESS support company fds Director Services Limited has appointed Gillian Van Laarhoven as commercial director.

Ms Van Laarhoven joined the business in October and has more than 20 years’ executive board experience across global businesses.

She has worked in SMEs, private businesses and PLCs with revenues ranging from £5M to £500M identifying, developing and executing growth strategies.
