Grade II-listed Grantley Hall set for next phase of development

PLANS have been submitted for the second phase of redevelopment works at grade II-listed Grantley Hall near Ripon.

Owned by Valeria Sykes, a property investor and ex-wife of UKIP donor Paul Sykes, plans to transform the hall into a spa and hotel have been ongoing over the past year.

The second phase will see a space built alongside the Japanese Garden, to the north of the main property which will be used as an event space for weddings, corporate events and large parties, as well as an independent restaurant, bar and luxurious private lounge.

Harrogate Borough Council already gave the green light for initial development works back in June, which included the spa and fitness centre as well as the renovation of the main house.

A spokesperson for Grantley Hall Ltd, said: “We’ve worked closely with our appointed suppliers to create considered plans for a venue that we believe will add significantly to the offering of Grantley Hall. The new space will allow us to cater to a wider market and will provide a unique proposition to the luxury hotel market in this part of the UK.

“We’re committed to working with the council and its affiliated parties with this second application and hope to further demonstrate our unwavering commitment to the success of this project.”
