Architects mark 40-year milestone

A WEST Yorkshire architectural practice, which counts Leeds United and Sainsbury’s as clients, is celebrating 40 years of growth.

Martin Walsh Architectural, a Dewsbury-based business that originally started out in a back bedroom, has been involved in more than 6,000 projects.

Originally launched in 1976 the family-run business, which spans two generations, has a portfolio of work that includes projects for clients including Leeds United, Sainsbury’s, Miller Homes, Shackletons, LNT Group and BOC Gas.

Managing director Martin Walsh says: “When I started the business it was a one-man operation in my spare bedroom. Now, 40 years later, we have 12 team members who are delivering great results within residential, commercial, industrial, leisure and education sectors.

“We’ve experienced growth despite the challenges that our industry has faced and have maintained our team during the recession. In recent years we have continued to quietly, yet confidently grow our business, extending our footprint into the north of England and also into diverse sectors.”

To mark the occasion of the 40th anniversary Martin Walsh Architectural has undergone a rebranding, which has included an overhauled website.

Mr Walsh said: “To accommodate our team we’ve recently extended our offices by a third and are about to embark on an external façade overhaul to include new office entrance and signage to bring the look and feel in line with our new brand.

“We’re starting a new chapter and are really excited about what the future holds.”
