Technology group on the acquisition trail

A TECHNOLOGY group is looking to acquire other businesses in the IT sector as part of an ambitious growth plan.

The Pure Technology Group, previously known as the Pure Data Group, is looking to acquire more businesses following the acquisition of Servatech Ltd in 2014.

The Leeds and Wakefield-based firm recently rebranded and is now looking for further opportunities for growth. TPTG has also hired 14 staff in the past nine months bringing staff numbers to 89. Hires included sales director Gary Saunders, poached from rival SICL in August 2016.

The company is also aiming to double turnover to £40m in the next three years and bring staff numbers to 150.

Cliff Fox, chief operations officer at TPTG, said that acquisitions will be an increasingly large part of the company’s growth plans, with around 11 potential acquisitions currently in discussion, and three or four in advanced talks.

Mr Fox said:”We are looking to grow our capability,”Mr Fox explained. “We have made some key hires recently and we are looking to increase that. It is about the right talent, from a commercial and technical perspective. We were 74 people in January and are now 89 people.

“Acquisitions and organic growth will see our numbers grow to approximately 150 in the next three years. We don’t want to be the biggest company in the world but we have ambition and I think our plan is well thought through and achievable.”
