People: Freeths Leeds office adds to corporate defence team; National Grid contract sparks expansion for recruitment firm

THE corporate defence and regulatory team at Freeths in Leeds has expanded with the recruitment Daniel McNally.

Mr McNally will be joining from another national law firm, where he predominantly represents professionals in both criminal and disciplinary proceedings and as interested persons at inquests.

His experience has stretched over numerous high level cases, including the representation of the 300 police involved in the Hillsborough disaster and the case under investigation of the publication of the infamous ‘Jay’ report which highlighted child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.

Mr McNally specialises in representing and advising corporate clients and/or their board of directors in criminal investigations or inquests.

iSource Group recruitsISource Group, the Leeds-based company specialising in IT, digital, procurement and digital recruitment, has hired two consultants to its growing team following a  multi-vacancy project contract with National Grid.

Benjamin Dean and Georgina Roberts will be joining the team in Leeds.

With backgrounds within the construction and legal arenas, they are both eager to transfer their skills to the IT industry and take on a new challenge at iSource Group.

Further building on recent growth, which saw seven staff join the business in the last eight weeks, the additional recruits will support with the six-month, multi-vacancy project for National Grid; securing the appointment of more than 25 procurement specialists throughout the West Midlands.

Two solicitors and a legal assistant have been recruited.

Lisa Molinari joins Taylor&Emmet’s Banner Cross office to handle general conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers. She worked previously at Banner Jones in Sheffield and is experienced in high value and complex transactions. Ms Molinari now hopes to further extend her skills, with the assistance of the firm, to become a Notary Public, enabling her to authenticate and certify official documents for use abroad.

Taylor&Emmet’s newest team, contentious probate, is welcoming solicitor Komal Landa, who will be handling a variety of cases, including disputed wills and Inheritance Act claims. Joining from Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield, she is now developing her litigation skills with support from department head, Alex Watkinson.

Legal assistant Oliver Simpson will be working alongside the general wills and probate specialists. He was offered a fulltime contract after securing a work placement during the summer and will now be embarking on part time study to qualify as a solicitor.
