People: Growing advisory firm adds to team; Surveyor hire for Malcom Hollis; and more

HUDDERSFIELD financial advisory firm Sheards Wealth Management has appointed an advisor as it continues with expansion plans.

Richard Derdowski, who has over 12 years’ experience in the financial services industry, has joined Sheards Wealth Management from a Yorkshire-based financial advisory firm.

He began his career in 2004 working for a national IFA consultancy firm before progressing to set up and grow a national advisory business, which went on to become the fastest growing firm within its sector.

Rob Devoy of Malcolm HollisCOMMERCIAL building surveying firm Malcolm Hollis has appointed Rob Devoy as senior chartered building surveyor at its Leeds office.

Mr Devoy has a degree in building surveying from Leeds Metropolitan University and joins Malcolm Hollis from GVA, where he was a senior surveyor. His main responsibilities include contract administration and project management in all commercial sectors, carrying out building surveys across a range of building types, technical due diligence for acquisitions and disposals and dilapidations for private and public sector clients.

Sarah Whitham and Jenny Bowden Stewarts LawSTEWARTS LAW has added two new solicitors to its divorce and family team.

Sarah Whitham and Jenny Bowden join the Leeds team, which offers bespoke family law advice to clients nationally and internationally.

Ms Bowden joins the firm from Clarion, and adds to the team’s expertise in high value complex family disputes, cohabitation law, and nuptial agreements.

Having started her career at Stewarts, Ms Whitham re-joins the firm following the completion of her training contract at LCF.
