People: Science park hires and promotes; Manager appointment for accountancy firm; and more

A SERIES of appointments and promotions have been made across the facilities management, centre coordinator and business development teams at York Science Park.

Adam Douglas has been promoted to deputy facilities manager, following five years’ experience in the facilities team. He will work with the senior management team as part of the company’s succession planning and will be undergoing leadership development over the next year.

The business development team has also welcomed Katy Holmes as the business development assistant.  

Jess Carling is the newest addition to the team, joining as the centre coordinator for the innovation centre.  

Tracey Smith, CEO of York Science Park, said: “Adam has been a key member of our facilities team and we were thrilled to be able to offer him the chance to progress with us. Katy has already proved herself to be a great asset to the team, and Jess has impressed colleagues and residents alike with her amazing customer service skills. Claire Jacques, new 360 Business Development Manager, with Andy Steele, founder and director of 360360 Chartered Accountants has appointed a business development manager, coinciding with the firm’s launch of its third office in Hull.
 
Claire Jacques, formerly MD at Intrasource, has over 15 years’ experience in senior sales/marketing and business development, the majority of which was spent operating at a senior and strategic level.
 
Andy Steele, founder and director of the Hull and East Yorkshire-based firm, said:

“We are really excited that Claire has joined us.  Her track record speaks for itself.  She will be responsible for pushing our systems and IT on to the next level as well as introducing us to her vast network of contacts. She will also be a key part of our 360 Mentor team, offering specialist advice and support to business owners. She is justwhat we need as we continue to expand 360, especially now that we have opened our new office at Craven Park.”

Tim Banfield Doncaster RacecourseTIM BANFIELD has been appointed executive director of Doncaster Racecourse.
 
He takes over from Kieran Gallagher who becomes Arena Racing Company’s (ARC) catering and events director.  
 
Mr Banfield joins ARC from the ACC Liverpool Group where he was commercial director for the last five years having joined the company as general manager to open the Echo Arena in 2008.  Before that he has worked at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and the NEC Birmingham.
 
ARC director of operations Mark Spincer said: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to the team. With his years of experience I think he has the skills and qualities to lead the team at Doncaster, one of our flagship racecourses.  It’s also great news that Kieran Gallagher will remain a central part of the operations team and utilise his skills in overseeing our catering offering to customers across our racecourses.”
