People: Advisory firm hires tax partner from BDO; BGF expands team covering the Northern regions; and more

ACCOUNTANTS and financial advisers Armstrong Watson has recruited Tom Roseff as a tax partner in its Yorkshire practice.

Mr Roseff has worked with KPMG, EY and Saffery Champness since qualifying over 15 years ago.  He joins Armstrong Watson from BDO’s tax practice in Leeds.

Specialising in advising family and privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals, Mr Roseff will lead Armstrong Watson’s tax practice in Leeds whilst servicing clients across Yorkshire.

He will also work closely with audit partners, Matt Osbourne, John Booth, Rohan Day, David Richmond and Joanna Gray to develop the firm’s growing reputation advising the region’s family businesses.

BGF (Business Growth Fund) has expanded its team with the appointment of Daniel Beckett to focus on business development across the North West, Yorkshire and North East.

Mr Beckett has nine years’ experience in business development, including seven years spent at Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing where he focused on corporate new business and managed a growing business development team.

He will be based across BGF’s offices in Manchester and Leeds.

Across the North West, North East and Yorkshire, BGF has invested more than £100m in the last 12 months. The company announced last week an £11m investment in Sheffield headquartered Coppergreen Developments, the owner of Lakeland Wood Lodges in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. This investment brings the total amount invested by BGF to more than £1bn nationally.

Gough and Kelly new recruitsTHE 160-strong team at Leeds security firm Gough & Kelly has been bolstered with a raft of new recruits and promotions.

Service specialist Andy Dry joins the business as service and installations manager, while Sean Morgan has been appointed as business development manager.

Undergraduate Amy Carmichael has joined Gough & Kelly on a 12-month internship. A student at Leeds Becket University, where she is working towards a degree in Accounts and Finance, Ms Carmichael will spend a year in the Gough & Kelly accounts department, working with the existing team to provide support and gain valuable experience in all aspects of financial management.

Meanwhile, former installations engineer Michael Oldfield has been promoted to sales engineer.
