Golden Triangle residential development on the table

A MAJOR residential development in the Golden Triangle of Leeds, Harrogate and Wetherby is up for sale.

16.6 acres at the village of Scarcroft which includes the grade II-listed Scarcroft Lodge is on offer.

Office space on the site is currently home to Npower, which are planning on vacating the site by 2018. The company has been there since taking over from the Yorkshire Electrical Board in 1948.

The site has planning permission for 130 dwellings, but the permissions were decreased to 100 homes in 2016. A formal application is being undertaken to increase this again.

A spokesperson for BNP Paribas who are marketing the site said: “We are very pleased to be acting on this extremely interesting development opportunity, in a beautiful area of North Leeds.

“The site is identified in the Leeds City Council emerging Site Allocations Plan (Outer North East September 2016) as a major developed site in the Green Belt with capacity for 100 dwellings. The previous allocation was 130 dwellings and representations have been made to increase that back to 130.”
