Leeds charity Simon on the Streets looking for new home

LEEDS charity Simon on the Streets is looking for a new home after being served notice unexpectedly on their current site.

The independent homelessness charity is currently based at Symons House on Belgrave Street in Leeds city centre and requires new space when it vacates the premises on 15 December 2016.

It is looking for two rooms to accommodate up to four people in each, or one larger room for up to seven people.

A spokesperson for the charity said they were keen to hear from anyone who knows of office space in Leeds at short notice. They said it was “quite a challenge” for the small team to find and move into new accommodation in less than 10 days.

They said a short term solution would allow them to buy them time, but they would also be keen on a longer term or permanent contract. As a small charity, it said it wished to divert as as many donations as possible directly on to its service users and are keen to minimise the rent costs as much as possible.

Simon on the Streets is also seeking assistance with the move in the form of packing materials and boxes, a van driver for the move and anyone with IT skills to help set up at the destination.
