Wellington Place set for new restaurant

WELLINGTON PLACE is now home to its newest restaurant offering.

The Leeds development from MEPC has welcomed The Good Luck Club, a 124-cover restaurant from the founders of popular coffee shop Sociable Folk.

Glenn Cooper and Stacey Needham, founders of Sociable Folk have created a New York-inspired restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and early evening meals for 6 Wellington Place.

They are sourcing from local suppliers such as Lishman’s of Ilkley and will be serving salads, burgers cooked fresh on a charcoal grill as well as drinks at its bar area.

Mr Cooper said: “Sociable Folk is doing really well, I’m so proud of what has been achieved since we opened in 2014. It’s become a popular place to meet and catch up for people who live and work in Leeds city centre. Our regular customers are testament to that!

“The Good Luck Club is the next chapter and focuses on creating another destination for people to meet, eat, drink, relax and do business.”

“Diners can pay us a visit to meet with friends and colleagues or take a seat by themselves to do some work. Meeting space is available for those who would like to host clients and there are plush booths for those looking to enjoy a more relaxed setting.

“It’s a great fit and hugely in line with the ethos of Wellington Place. The approach to lifestyle, health and wellbeing is second to none here, so I feel that The Good Luck Club adds another string to the bow.”

James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, said: “MEPC knows how important it is to offer something above and beyond the working day at Wellington Place and we’ve worked hard to create that. Sociable Folk has a wonderful following and is incredibly popular with people who are based in the city centre. I’m looking forward to Glenn and Stacey’s next instalment, The Good Luck Club is a great fit for us.”
