People: Further expansion for law firm’s family team; Director hire for Airedale; and more

THE private client services practice at Clarion is continuing to grow with family lawyer Stephanie Douthwaite the latest to join the 18 strong team.

Ms Douthwaite joins as an associate solicitor having spent six years with Blacks Solicitors in Leeds, initially as a paralegal before completing her training with the firm and then spending two years working in its family team.  She has an LLB (Hons) in Law from the University of Leeds and completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP Leeds.

Her experience includes assisting with a wide range of family and matrimonial issues including divorce, finances, nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and children-related matters.

Adam Yarrington AiredaleWEST Yorkshire air conditioning manufacturer Airedale has appointed Adam Yarrington as product development director.

He will take over the reins from George Hannah who has been in the role for the past six years.

Mr Yarrington joined Airedale in 2005 after graduating from the University of Leeds with a MEng Degree in Automotive Engineering.

During the last 11 years he has progressed from test engineer to customer services manager, working in various departments and achieving Chartered Engineer status along the way.

In this new strategic role, Mr Yarrington will lead the development of Airedale’s design, engineering and research offering to underpin their growth strategy.

Tony Cole, managing director, said: “Adam will be a valuable addition to the leadership team. His fantastic technical knowledge combined with his customer service and research skills will enable him, in his new role, to contribute significantly to delivering exactly what our customers require.

Jamie Adam SavillsSAVILLS has hired a new head of residential development sales in the north of England. Jamie Adam has joined the firm as an associate director to set up a new residential development sales team spanning the North West and Yorkshire, working from Savills offices in Leeds, York and Manchester.

Mr Adam, who specialises in development consultancy and the sale and marketing of new build property, has 15 years experience in the property industry both agency and client side, mainly focused in the development and new homes sectors.

Prior to joining Savills, he worked for Lane Fox followed by Jackson-Stops & Staff in Winchester where he was head of land and new homes for six years.

He then moved to York to take over the running of the Jackson-Stops residential sales office. Most recently, he has worked client side for a private equity backed property investment and development company.

He said: “I am thrilled to have joined Savills and relish the challenge of setting up a new department in the north of England, an area which I am very familiar with. With the northern powerhouse firmly on everyone’s radar, this is an exciting time to be joining the business.”
