People: Financial recruiter makes director hire; Bed manufacturer bolsters senior team; and more

MARTIN HIBBERT has joined the Leeds office of Woodrow Mercer Finance as an associate director.

He joins Woodrow Mercer Finance, a joint venture between FDYL, the Yorkshire-based financial consultancy and recruitment specialist and Birmingham-based Woodrow Mercer, with almost 20 years’ experience in the financial sector.

Mr Hibbert worked in private banking for a number of banks including NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.  He joins from Brewster Pratap where he was a senior consultant in executive finance and prior to that he was an executive recruiter for Venturexec.

In his new role he will be seeking and placing senior finance personnel in interim and permanent positions for businesses.

With a 30 year track record in the sector, FDYL specialises in the search and selection of portfolio finance directors and financial controllers as well as full-time interims and permanent FDs and FCs.

In November, it joined forces with £12m turnover Birmingham-based Woodrow Mercer to launch its new senior financial recruitment division.  As well as its Leeds head office, Woodrow Mercer Finance also has offices in London, Birmingham and Sheffield.

Ruairi Giles Harrison SpinksBED maker Harrison Spinks has bolstered its senior team by appointing a new commercial director.

Ruairi Giles has taken on the position after spending more than eight years working at Harrison Spinks in a variety of roles.
 
As part of his new role, he will assist the sales, operations and manufacturing departments in continuing to drive the company forward.

George Lambourne HangfastADVENTURE engineering company Hangfast has strengthened its investment in sales and marketing with the appointment of Leeds Beckett University Sports Marketing graduate George Lambourne.

Mr Lambourne joins at a time of expansion for the Bingley-based business, which next month completes the construction of Europe’s first ever Flight Tower, measuring over 60ft, at Lancaster City Council’s Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

The Flight Tower, named Gravity, is a multi-level outdoor tower and new epic adventure which will see adrenalin enthusiasts invited to test their nerve and leap from lofty apex ‘The Drop’.

Hangfast enjoys an extensive customer base including Center Parcs, LEGOLAND and Alliance Leisure.
 
Mr Lambourne will be responsible for continuing to strengthen the company brand, building customer relationships and enhancing Hangfast’s presence in the market.
