People: Leeds headhunter recruits; Listed life sciences business makes board change; and more

LEEDS-based headhunter HW – Global Talent Partner has recruited a new consultant for its financial services practice.

Adam Fleckney, who joins from a specialist talent research consultancy owned by Capita, brings more than a decade of experience in executive search within the financial services sector.

He has headed up leadership and management group hires and played a key role in the assessment of new senior appointments, working for three FTSE 100 firms over the past 11 years. His experience spans corporate centre and business unit environments.

HW CEO Spencer Jinks said: “Adam brings a wealth of talent development and search experience within the financial services sector and is an excellent addition to our financial services practice. He will be focusing on our core market of retail financial services, with a specific target of challenger banks and insurance.”

LIFE sciences business OptiBiotix Health has announced the departure of Jim Laird by mutual agreement and the appointment of Per Rehné as commercial director.

Mr Rehné will join the OptiBiotix board and has many years experience of the food industry, having worked for some of the world’s leading food companies including Danisco (acquired by Dupont in 2011 for US$6.3bn).

More recently, he has worked as European director of health and nutrition at Cornelius Group, which under his leadership became the company’s fastest growing business unit, quadrupling sales from a low base to double digit million pound revenues in less than three years.

Stephen O’Hara, CEO of OptiBiotix, a company which develops compounds to tackle obesity, high cholesterol and diabetes, said: “Per’s experience and track record of growing business-to-business sales of ingredients and nutritional products brings operational commercial and industry expertise to OptiBiotix. LAnson Masham appointmentsANIMAL feed manufacturer I’Anson Brothers has appointed two new members of staff to support its ongoing growth and development.

Andrew Harrison and John Wilson have joined the North Yorkshire company as a nutritionist and sales manager respectively.

Now into its second century of business, I’Anson Brothers is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of animal feedstuffs and has been serving farmers in Yorkshire and the North of England since 1900 when it was founded in Masham.
