US firm swoops for 130-year-old hospital bed manufacturer

A HALIFAX-based hospital bed manufacturer, which has been operating for 130 years, has been snapped up by a company headquartered in New York.

Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical products, has acquired Sidhil Group for an undisclosed sum.

Sidhil Group operates from a 105,000 sq ft facility in Halifax and has a nationwide Service Centre network.

Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare manufactures a line of medical products, including mobility products, sleep and respiratory products, beds, bariatric products, wheelchairs, sleep surfaces and pressure prevention products.

The company markets its products to customers located throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Central and South America, the Middle East and Asia.
