Henry Boot hails success of flagship M1 development

Yorkshire’s Henry Boot Developments ended 2016 on a high after securing deals for 1.2m sq ft of industrial space throughout the year at a major business and logistics development.

The year began with Meter Provida’s 40,000 sq ft HQ facility at Markham Vale West achieving an investment sale price of £3.25m, representing a net yield of 6.12%. By July construction of Great Bear Distribution’s 480,750 sq ft unit at Markham Vale East had completed.

Further development at Markham Vale North saw the construction of Ferdinand Bilstein UK’s 225,000 sq ft unit commence, with practical completion scheduled for later this month.

To cap off the year, Henry Boot Developments secured a deal for a second Great Bear Distribution unit totalling 480,285 sq ft. Construction of this unit is due to get underway in the coming weeks.

Vivienne Clements, director at Henry Boot Developments, said: “We are extremely pleased to see our flagship M1 development, Markham Vale, secure high profile names in 2016, including 1m sq ft for national logistics operator, Great Bear Distribution, and a bespoke unit for German car components specialist Ferdinand Bilstein UK.

“The location has unrivalled access to the national motorway network which combined with our ability to deliver bespoke units to a high specification over concise delivery programmes; we are confident the take up in 2017 will be equally successful.”

Markham Vale has 40 acres of land available which can accommodate a range of units from 15,000 sq ft to 200,000 sq ft.
