Sky Bet invests £500,000 in graduate scheme

Tech ‘unicorn’ Sky Bet is investing half a million pounds in a new graduate scheme that will create 20 jobs.

Roles across commercial, finance and software are on offer as part of the scheme.

Sky Bet said it had supported £3m worth of early career initiatives over the past year and brought job opportunities for graduates to 70. It has also implemented a software training academy.

So far the company said that 70% of its new recruits had come from universities in Yorkshire, including Hull, Leeds, Leeds Beckett, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam, and Bradford universities.

Rob Painter, Sky Betting & Gaming’s brand and HR director, said: “Following the success of last year’s scheme I’m thrilled to announce the 2017 scheme is now open to applicants. We’ve really benefited from growing our business in Yorkshire and I’m confident the region has everything talented graduates want from well paid, challenging jobs like ours, including a great standard of living.”
