Metals business invests £7.7m in laser cutting technology

Leeds-based metals business Kloeckner Metals UK have invested £7.7m in equipment after reporting increasing demand from the automotive sector.

The firm, which manufactures from a site in Dudley, specialises in tube laser processing from its site in Dudley.

It has acquired six tube lasers to add to its specialist division, which Kloeckner says has seen a 78% revenue increase in the past year.

It said that a 3D laser increases precision and the ability to cut at a 45° angle – meaning a cleaner cut.
