People: Law firm boosts restructuring and insolvency team with Bond Dickinson hire; Accountancy firm takes on 24; and more

Law firm Andrew Jackson has recruited Azher Quyoom, who joins the firm as a partner from Bond Dickinson.

Quyoom’s particular expertise in restructuring, turnaround and insolvency is a key addition to the firm, which announced the opening of its latest regional office in Scarborough last month.

BHP new startersBHP Chartered Accountants has recruited more graduates, trainees and school leavers than ever before.

The 24 new starters, comprising 12 apprentices, eight graduates and four placement students, will work across a variety of disciplines in the firm’s five offices in Sheffield, Leeds, Cleckheaton, Chesterfield and York.

Trainee opportunities have been provided across a number of specialist departments within BHP, including audit and accounts, tax, and corporate finance.

Fiona Wilkinson has been appointed to the board of e-money Contis Group as an independent non- executive director.

Wilkinson has a 35 year history in the payments business, including board level roles at Visa Europe, most recently as chief communications officer.  She has extensive experience in sales and marketing with specialist skills in risk, reputation and issues management; as well as understanding and managing the impacts of regulation.
