Arco outlines ambitious growth plans with multi-million-pound investment

Safety specialist Arco is targeting further growth with a £4m investment to upgrade its national distribution centre based in Hull.

The investment forms part of the company’s expansion plans and includes the construction of a new mezzanine floor, doubling the number of pack benches. It also included additional software upgrades and conveyor systems, all of which increase the company’s picking and packing capability for customer orders.

The £268m turnover company employs around 1600 staff and specialises in personal protective equipment, clothing, footwear, gloves, workplace safety and hygiene products.

Neil Griffiths, divisional director of logistics and supply chain, said: “The enhancements to our NDC fulfils phase one of our extensive plans for growth. We recently had planning permission approved on new building which will double the size of our warehousing and distribution facilities. This significant investment will provide us with the supply chain infrastructure to support our ambitious growth plans.”
