Technology startups supported by Morrisons incubator

David Potts, Morrisons CEO

Supermarket giant Morrisons has launched a tech startup initiative which it says will come up with a pipeline of ideas to boost productivity.

The initiative will allow startups to pitch to the grocer with their solutions to the productivity challenge according to Retail Week.

Bradford-based Morrisons has teamed up with innovation hub TrueStart to give startups access to the supermarket’s senior executives.

The pitch opportunities will be focused on businesses that aim to improve customer service, operational efficiencies, staff engagement and supply chain logistics for the initiative.

Morrisons group retail director Gary Mills said: “We are constantly striving to improve the offer for our customers and eliminating wasted effort by our colleagues.

“We see this initiative as being a good way of sourcing a range of innovative solutions to help us make progress in these areas.”
