Bullseye for Bradford as British International Darts Tournament comes to Yorkshire

The British International Darts Tournament 2017, the world’s longest-running international team championships in the history of the sport, will take place in Bradford next month as it marks its 38th anniversary.

The tournament between England, Scotland and Wales takes place at Cedar Court Leeds Bradford between March 24 and 26.

Tommy Thompson, chairman of the England Darts Organisation, said: “This tournament features many of the most recognisable players from the sport including former World Champions Martin Adams and Trina Gulliver; and current ladies’ World No 1 and England captain Deta Hedman. Men’s world ranked No 2, England captain Scott Mitchell, leads the England team.

“We would like to thank everyone for assisting The England Darts Organisation in promoting this unique and iconic event.”

The event has been organised in partnership with specialist group hotel booking site rooms4groups.

rooms4groups CEO Maria Turley-Allerton said: “This is a great opportunity for rooms4groups in our third year of operation, and we’re really excited to be working with the England Darts Organisation in bringing an international sporting event to Yorkshire.”

The tournament will also play host to many of Yorkshire’s finest, including Martin Atkins (Leeds); Dave Copley (Barnsley); Brian Dawson (Barnsley); all of whom feature in the Men’s International championship.

World ranked No 5 Lorraine Winstanley features in the Ladies’, and youth sensation Beau Greaves from Sprotbrough in Doncaster leads the England challenge in the girls’ event.
