Harrogate offices set for residential conversion after £4m deal

Offices in Harrogate which were the former home to education charity AQA are set for a residential transformation after being sold for more than £4m.

AQA, represented by Savills, has sold the freehold of the building to Newby Asset Management.

The 28,105 sq ft property which sits on a 1.33-acre site has been sold with permitted development rights granted for conversion to residential use.

Located on the corner of Springfield Road and the established hub of shops and services on Kings Road, the property is also adjacent to Harrogate’s International Conference Centre.

Paul Fairhurst, head of Savills Leeds, said: “We are pleased to have completed the sale of AQA’s former office to Newby Asset Management.  This marks the start of the property’s next chapter, as its conversion for residential use will deliver new homes in this sought-after town centre location.”

AQA has relocated to the newly refurbished Windsor House at the junction of Cornwall Road and Clarence Drive in Harrogate.

Newby Asset Management was unrepresented.
