Shopping centre bags New Look as retailer rolls out menswear offering

Fast-growing high street fashion retailer New Look Men is checking in as the latest addition to Doncaster’s Frenchgate Shopping Centre.

Taking a 3,500 sq ft unit, the fashion brand will open a menswear store at Frenchgatein March, which will complement the shopping centre’s existing 16,000 sq ft ladies wear store.

New Look was founded in 1969, but in August 2015 announced plans to open standalone stores dedicated to menswear.

The Frenchgate store launch marks the 21st site for the standalone menswear brand across the UK, with growth continuing at key locations.

Paddy Mellon, Frenchgate Shopping Centre general manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome New Look Men to Frenchgate. It is great to be able to strengthen our current menswear offer to Frenchgate’s loyal customers.

“We are always looking to bring great brands to Frenchgate and work closely with our current and perspective retailers to achieve this.

“New Look Men is a rapidly growing brand and their decision to launch at Frenchgate underpins our centre’s appeal as a fantastic retail and leisure destination.”

Roger Wightman, New Look chief creative officer, said: “Menswear is a key strategic priority for New Look, and the opening of menswear standalone stores represents a natural next step for us.

“We are very proud of the improvements made to our offer over the past two years – the opening of menswear standalone stores will allow us to more fully showcase the enhanced quality of our product ranges.”

Time Retail and Rawstron Johnson acted for Frenchgate, which is managed by Lambert Smith Hampton’s Belfast office.
