Engineering firm turns the heat up on growth plans with HQ relocation

A West Yorkshire specialist engineering firm expects to increase output by 80% after moving to a 35,000 sq ft site with the help of a £1.7m finance package.

MTE Heat Treatment has relocated to a purpose-built facility on a 2.5-acre plot in Slaithwaite.

The firm already employs 30 staff, with that number expected to increase by a third over the coming years.

The MTE facilities are equipped with the latest technology and testing facilities which the company says will enable it to service a broad client base including automotive customers.

Geoff Windas, director, MTE Heat Treatment, said: “Part of the finance package was used to fund two new £1m state-of-the-art furnaces. They will be the first of their kind in the UK and will provide us with a significant competitive edge in the sub-contract heat treatment market.

“Our business was constrained by lack of space in our old premises, and we expect to increase output by 80% on our new site.”

Mike Edwards, relationship manager at Yorkshire Bank, arranged the funding.

He said: “MTE Heat Treatment has been a customer of ours for over 10 years and we’ve been delighted to watch them grow organically, especially over the past three years.  We are proud to be involved in the next stage of their development and wish them every success in their new premises.”
