In Brief: Dragon’s Den star promotes enterprise degree; Luxury lingerie retailer comes to Yorkshire; and more

ONE of the UK’s best-known entrepreneurs was back in Leeds to promote an enterprise degree to more than 1500 sixth-form students from all over the North.

Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis has backed the course since it first started in 2008, providing mentoring and promoting its benefits to young people.

Mr Paphitis, chairman of stationery experts Ryman, gave the keynote speech at Savile’s Hall underlining the importance of business and enterprise, and how to succeed.

He introduced Huddersfield University’s BA Honours degree in enterprise development which has just taken on its second cohort of 14 students this year.

The degree was developed by Huddersfield University to enable students to develop their own, sustainable business while supported by courses on the essentials such as book-keeping, sales and marketing.
