TELECOMS components group Filtronic today announced half-year pre-tax profits of £11.7m as it said it was expecting weaker demand in its markets but hopes to trade at a break-even level for the rest of its financial year.

The Shipley-based group said that stripping out profits from discontinued operations, it made an operating profit before execeptional items of £1.8m in the six months to November 30 on revenue of £18.3m.
