In brief: Hill Dickinson celebrates 200 years; KC wins marketing award; ‘Fabulous’ book a hit;

LAW firm Hill Dickinson celebrated 200 years in business with a drinks reception in Sheffield last night.

The event also officially marked the firm’s arrival in the city having launched an office in Sheffield earlier in the year after taking over Halliwell’s South Yorkshire operation.

Senior partner Tony Wilson said: “Hill Dickinson’s strength lies in its historical roots and its successful and longstanding client relationships.

“We wanted to celebrate both our 200 year anniversary and the firm’s arrival in Sheffield with our colleagues, clients and friends in the professional community.”

Hill Dickinson has pledged to raise funds for charities in the regions where it operates and the Sheffield office has chosen to support its local branch of the NSPCC.

COMMUNICATIONS firm KC has been named Yorkshire company of the year in the Marketing Industry Network Awards.

KC, part of the KCom group, won for the launch of its refreshed brand earlier this year.

Chief executive Kevin Walsh said:  “Winning this award reflects that we’ve done more than just adopt a new look – we’ve listened to what our customers and employees have said about how we can improve, and made changes to the way we work as a result.

“The judges commented that our award entry stood out because it was all about people, and it’s true that we’ve involved hundreds of our people in this project, which is far from over – we’ll continue to put our customers at the heart of what we do so that the communities we serve can be proud that we’re part of local life.”
