Odgers win national charity challenge

LEEDS-BASED executive search firm, Odgers Berndtson, has won the third annual Sport Industry Charity Challenge.
The firm completed the HSBC Private Bank Hadrian's Double Marathon, walking two marathons across Hadrians Wall in 16 hours.
This is the third consecutive year that Odgers has won the team challenge and to honour this achievement the trophy has been renamed the Odgers Cup.
The 2009 team, consisting of Simon Walton, Nick Claridge, Ronald Hicks and Leon Ayo, walked the first marathon on day one in 7 hours and completed the second in 9 hours, despite challenging weather conditions.
They beat off competing teams from companies such as Benchmark Sport, NBA and HSBC Private Bank to win the challenge.
The Sports Industry Group organises a physical challenge every year with an aim to uniting the industry to raise funds for a chosen charity. Past events have included climbing the Three Peaks and traversing the Alps.
The efforts of the volunteers in this years challenge brings the total raised by the event over the three years to £100,000.
