PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP staff go the extra mile for Jane's Appeal & Martin House

21st May 2008

More than 100 partners and staff from the Leeds office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will be taking part in the 2008 Leeds 10k run which takes place on Sunday 22 June. The team will be raising money for their chosen charities of the year, Jane’s Appeal and Martin’s House.

Jane’s Appeal is a charity set up in memory of Jane Tomlinson which benefits a number of different cancer and children’s charities. Mike Tomlinson, Trustee of Jane’s Appeal said: “It is fantastic that the staff and partners of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP are supporting the Leeds10k in such a strong way. The team will be one of the largest taking part and shows the firm’s commitment to help people less fortunate than themselves whilst recognising the huge benefits that businesses can gain from such an exciting team event. We look forward to them joining us on 22 June.”

Martin’s House provides holistic care and support to children and young people with life limiting illnesses, and to their families.

The team consists of partners and staff from a number of departments across the firm’s Leeds office including assurance, corporate finance, performance improvement consulting, public services and tax. This fantastic response means that PricewaterhouseCoopers has one of the biggest teams in the run.

Mark Webster, community affairs partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Leeds, said: “I am delighted to see that so many people from the firm are taking part in the Leeds 10k run. Not only are we raising money for our chosen charities, Jane’s Appeal and Martin’s House, but it will also be a great event to bolster team spirit.”
