Royal visit for Emerald
9th December 2009
HIS Royal Highness The Duke of Kent visited Emerald Group Publishing in Bingley in recognition of the company's global success as a leading publisher of management research.
During the visit The Duke of Kent was given a tour of Emerald's purpose built head offices and unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.
He also spoke to members of the company's 250 strong team about how the company has established an international office network and built a client base including international business schools, governments and public bodies, across more than 130 countries.
Martin Fojt, executive chairman of Emerald, said: “Since Emerald's inception in 1967, the company has followed a rapid expansion programme and now supports scholarly research and higher education on every continent in the world.
"In these troubled economic times, we are striving to make a social impact and help the world to be better managed.
“A Royal visit is testament to this ethos, the company's overall success and our commitment to our Yorkshire roots. We are delighted that The Duke of Kent chose to come and visit us on one of his few visits to the region.”
