SANTANDER employees joined forces with university students for a day of community volunteering as part of its Community Days initiative.
The bank’s Leeds University branch led a team of 35 students in a restoration project at Woodhouse Moor Park in Leeds, which involved planting around 1,600 shrubs.
“We are delighted to be able to work with Leeds University to provide practical support to such a worthwhile project as the Woodhouse Moor Park restoration scheme,” said Nicola Robinson, Santander branch manager.
Earlier this month Santander also contributed speakers to an evening of corporate social responsibility (CSR) lectures at Leeds University, where students heard talks from law firm Pinsent Masons and Dr Alan Murray, a leading academic in the CSR field and author of Corporate Responsibility.
The event was part of Leeds University’s Social Responsibility in Action programme, funded through the Santander Universities partnership, which offers students a practical and theoretical examination of CSR issues.
