Since 2004 Yorkshire Bank, which, with its sister Clydesdale Bank is owned by National Australia Bank, has been at the heart of the integrated financial solutions revolution, creating tailor-made, multi-discipline financial solutions for businesses throughout the UK and across the commercial and industrial spectrum.

Banking teams at our Leeds Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) and six others across the region, are a unique model for modern-day banking, combining asset and invoice financing, wealth and risk management specialists to provide rapid responses, giving businesses a chance to plan ahead and for us to develop long-term partnerships based on an in-depth understanding of their needs.

By placing credit experts at the heart of our integrated financial solutions teams, we gain a fuller understanding of our clients needs and aspirations and are able to make lending decisions up to £75m without having to refer to our main board, making us the only bank in the region able to make fast, local decisions up to such a high level.

This integrated approach enables us to support large, innovative and often ground-breaking transactions. Our Leeds FSC, with support from nabCapital, supported Nottinghamshire-based dolomitic products manufacturer, Steetley Dolomite, in selling 50,000 tonnes of its carbon credit allowance on the forward commodities market to generate substantial sums under Phase 2 of the Euro Emission Trading Scheme to invest in environmental measures.

We have also provided senior debt facilities to fund the secondary buy-out of Leeds-based savoury convenience foods manufacturer, Symingtons, whose portfolio includes Crosse & Blackwell and Ainsley Harriott, in a deal which involved significant equity investment from Hermes Capital and the introduction of a new executive management team led by David Salkeld, former-CEO of Arla Foods plc. The deal was the second time Yorkshire Bank has backed Symingtons, having previously funded its acquisition from Gresham Private Equity in 2006.

More recently we have also supported Sheffield-based timber and property firm, Arnold Laver in acquiring the business from the Laver family trust with support from a management buy-in candidate in one of the biggest management buy-ins in Britain in 2007

On top of all this, a full range of private banking services including pensions, mortgages and wealth management advice for high net worth individuals is also available through all Yorkshire Bank FSCs.
