YourNews: HP Envy 4527 – Printer Of The Month

If you are looking for a compact office or home printer that won’t take up huge amounts of space, then the HP Envy 4527 might just be of interest to you.

This printer is perfect for those who print infrequently, and its sleek design means that you won’t have to hunt for desk space in the office or at home, it even fits neatly into a small cupboard. A reliable performer with the conveniences of printing, scanning and copying, the HP Envy 4527 can connect to a multitude of devices for wireless operation.

Easy Installation

The setup process for the HP Envy 4527 printer is straight forward – it is simply a case of plugging it in and then following the step-by-step instructions on the digital touchscreen.

The printer itself is supplied with two standard HP inkjet cartridges which are easily installed, and a test page is automatically printed for you to ensure everything is performing correctly.

Replacement recycled original HP 302XL ink cartridges can be ordered from Red Bus Cartridges and are available at very reasonable prices. In fact, a high capacity, HP 302XL combination pack containing one black recycled and one tri-colour recycled cartridge is available at just £24.95, excluding VAT – which is around £15 cheaper than an original version combination pack.

The paper tray sits at the bottom of the printer, and can hold 100 sheets of A4 comfortably, and it also allows for A5 and A6 with its handy size sliders.  An unexpected, but pleasant novelty of the printer is the automatic emergence of the paper tray whenever a print job is

started.  This is a great feature to help organise documents – ensuring that they don’t end up in a layered mess on the floor!

Simple Scanning

The scanning feature is also really simple to use and the printer provides concise information about how to connect it to your computer or device.

On the subject of connecting devices, the HP Envy 4527 allows wireless connection, and connecting to a mobile device was straight forward – the same can be said when it came to a tablet, laptop and desktop computer. However, there is no Ethernet connection facility available, so you do need to have some form of Wi-Fi connectivity to use the printer.

Power Saving

The printer has a power saving, sleep mode function. Sleep mode kicks-in after five minutes of inactivity, however when a job is sent to the printer, it powers up again automatically, completing the print job as normal.

A slight criticism would be that the touch screen facility is not as sensitive as it perhaps could be, although this doesn’t take away from the printer’s overall functionality.

In summary, if you are looking for a compact office/home printer with the latest all-in-one technology at a reasonable price, then the HP Envy 4527 is well worth considering. In fact, we would thoroughly recommend it!
