Confusion reigns after further delay in Sports Direct results

Confusion reigned on Friday morning and Shirebook-based Sports Direct delayed publishing its annual results for the second time.

The company was due to present its end of year figures to investors, analysts and journalist at 9am but the Mike Ashley’s firm said it was “still finalising” the results.

The Sports Direct office insisted that the figures would be published on Friday.

Earlier this month, the company said it was delaying its year ends over uncertainty surrounding the trading of House of Fraser.

Reports suggest that the firm’s profits are set to fall by up to a fifth.
