Elaine Bridle

Financial brokerage firm Sterling Commercial Finance has appointed Elaine Bridle as its new compliance manager.

Bridle has 40 years of commercial banking experience with NatWest, most recently working within its commercial risk and controls team.

She said: “I‘m looking forward to working with the team at Sterling. It’s good to see a Commercial Finance Brokerage taking regulation and compliance so seriously and being prepared to invest appropriately in this area.”

David Griffiths, managing director, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Elaine to Sterling. Regulation and compliance have an ever-increasing part to play in our industry and it’s critical that, in addition to acting in accordance with FCA rules and guidance, we produce a robust audit trail to demonstrate that we have done so. Elaine will be able to lend support across all our consultants, thereby freeing up more time for us to raise much needed finance for our clients.”

Phil Colquhoun and Chris Bullock

Burton-based Lorien Engineering Solutions has added to its UK board with the appointments of Phil Colquhoun and Chris Bullock.

The promotions follow the retirement of directors Steve Slater and Roy Klek and the promotion of David Mallinson to group managing director.

Lorien specialises in capital projects for food, brewing, drinks, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and logistics. The company is headquartered in Burton-upon-Trent, with international offices in Poland and South Africa.

Colquhoun and Bullock join operations director Bill Treddenick on the UK board.

David Mallinson, group managing director, said: “Following on from the well-deserved retirements of Steve and Roy, we have taken the step to bring two talented and experienced members of our management team on to the board. Phil and Chris are integral members of the Lorien team and their promotions are highly deserved.

“The past 12 months have been challenging for our UK clients but our project management expertise has helped to keep critical supply chains moving. We look forward to building on our success in 2021.”
