An East Midlands-based provider of temperature controlled thermal packaging solutions has moved into a 25,000 sq ft warehouse and office building at Nottingham’s Phoenix Centre after experiencing a period of accelerated growth.

Thergis, a brand of Ilkeston-headquartered KB Packaging, manufactures water and gel packs used for the delivery of temperature sensitive goods.

The business, which primarily supplies the food industry, took its new premises at the business park after growing by 114% in 2020/21.

Three local jobs have been created as a result, and the firm says two more hires are on the cards thanks to a pair of recent contract wins.

A spokesperson for the company said the brand will now look to increase its supply to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector as a result of the expansion.

Struan Birch, general manager at Thergis, said: “Having grown by 114% last year, we needed to move to a larger distribution and manufacturing space to meet industry demand.

“Due to the relocation, we now have better access to the motorway and other major road networks, allowing access for fast deliveries all over the UK.”
