Chamber backs six-month paid jobs scheme for young people
The East Midlands Chamber has backed the rollout of the Government’s Jobs Guarantee, saying the scheme could help businesses tackle recruitment challenges while giving young people a route into employment.
The programme provides six months of paid work for 18 to 24-year-olds who have been claiming Universal Credit and looking for work for at least 18 months.
The Government is aiming to support more than 90,000 young people into work over the next three years as part of a wider £2.5bn youth employment package.
