M1 closed in both directions after lorry overturns near East Midlands Airport

The M1 in Leicestershire has been closed in both directions after a lorry overturned and came to rest on the central reservation.

The motorway is shut between Junction 24 at Kegworth and Junction 23A for East Midlands Airport while the vehicle is recovered.

Specialist recovery teams are being sent to the scene to remove the lorry safely, with motorists warned to expect disruption and allow additional time for their journeys.
