‘Downright dirty’ bar and restaurant set to open in Nottingham

A Manchester-based restaurant and bar that sells tequila, cocktails, tapas and streetfood is set to expand into Nottingham.

El Capo, which is based in Manchester’s thriving Northern Quarter, is set to open it’s first outlet outside of the city by moving into the former Coco Lounge unit on George Street in the Hockley area of Nottingham.

Coco Lounge shut two years ago after a series of controversies that included a stabbing. It was finally closed after a report found the management to be “woefully inadequate”.

El Capo’s menu has been described as “downright dirty, with South American flair”. It’s not yet known exactly when El Capo will open, but bosses have applied to Nottingham City Council for a license that includes opening hours of 10am to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 10am until 1am on Friday and Saturday.

El Capo were unavailable for comment when we contacted them.
